WHO WE ARE_
The Radio Academy is run by Mark Robinson, a 25 year radio veteran with experience in Programming and General Management, On-Air, Promotions, Marketing & Consulting.
Mark has recently returned from 5 years in Ireland, working for two national stations in Dublin, and assisting international consultants with breakfast show analysis of stations in Ireland, the UK, the USA, Canada and South Africa.
Here's what Clive Dickens, COO of Absolute Radio UK, (with an audience of over 1,300,000), and Absolute & Dowse (recently voted the world's best radio consultancy), with an audience of over 1,300,000, had to say about Mark...
' Whilst based in Ireland Mark played a key role for Absolute & Dowse (A&D) in assisting stations in the US, Canada and South Africa in the execution of key promotions, as well as providing detailed program feedback on shows for Absolute Radio in London and the broader British market…Mark’s input was always of the calibre expected by a company such as ours on the world radio stage...'
Whilst in Ireland, Mark founded The Irish Radio Academy and ran courses for the Dublin Media Centre, with a strong success rate, placing a number of students in the industry.
Now settled in Tasmania, Mark is bringing the same expertise to industry hopefuls here.
WHAT WE DO_
The Radio Academy is offering its first course in Tasmania; a 7 week introductory course into commercial radio. The course is aimed at providing an insight into the day to day workings of commercial radio, exploring opportunities for industry hopefuls in all areas, and to provide practical skills that may help someone break into the industry.
Whilst many aspirants may have an initial aim to be an announcer, there are many other areas of radio that offer satisfying career options, and these are also covered in the course. Whether you just have a fascination of the industry and want to learn more, or you want to break into radio and make it a life changing career, the Radio Academy, based in Devonport, can help you achieve your aims.
